He started playing guitar at the age of 13. In his late teens he formed the group\u00a0<strong>LEB I SOL<\/strong>\u00a0which became one of the most important names in the music scene of former Yugoslavia.\u00a0<strong>LEB I SOL<\/strong>\u00a0had released 14 albums and had toured around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Since the mid- nineties Stefanovski has developed a very successful solo career. He has recorded remarkable solo releases, like\u00a0<strong>Cowboys &amp; Indians, Sarajevo, Vlatko Stefanovski trio, Kula od karti, Thunder from the blue sky<\/strong>\u00a0etc. The collaboration with Miroslav Tadic,<br \/>\non the albums\u00a0<strong>Krushevo, Treta majka, Live in Belgrade,\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Live in Zagreb<\/strong>\u00a0put a new light on Vlatko\u2019s acoustic guitar work, and his further exploration of the Macedonian traditional music.<br \/>\nIn the last several years he has played and recorded all around the world with many top artists like\u00a0<strong>Tommy Emmanuel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Stochelo Rosenberg<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Gibonni, Jan Akkerman, Theodosii Spassov Stefan Milenkovic, Kudsi Erguner, Bojan Z., Manu Katche, Toni Levin,\u00a0Big Band of the Slovenian Army,\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0and many others. His recent work also includes music for films, theatre and ballet.<\/p>\n<p>As a soloist Vlatko has performed and recorded with numerous orchestras and enesmbles, like<strong>\u00a0London Simphony Orchestra, MDR Leipzig Simphony Orchestra, Monte Carlo Philcharmony Orchestra, Tonkunstler orchestra from Vienna, Simphonieta Orchestra from Sophia, Slovenian philharmony orchestra \u2013 Ljubljana, Student symphony orchestra from Skopje Macedonia, FoolCool Jazz big band, RTV Ljubljana Big Band, Croatian HTV big band, RTV Srbija Big band,\u00a0Slovenian Army Big Band Orchestra<\/strong>\u00a0etc.<\/p>\n<p>Stefanovski is well known for his unique guitar technique and tone. With his\u00a0<strong>Vlatko Stefanovski Trio<\/strong>\u00a0he has performed around the world. In 2007 Stefanovski was honoured a\u00a0<strong>Doctorate honoris causa<\/strong> in the fields of art at the University St. Kiril and Metodij \/ Skopje. From being the principal french horn with the Macedonian Philharmonic, to skillfuly playing improvised music or jazz (on one of the many instruments he has mastered), from conducting international orchestras to composing and arranging scores for movie and theater, to playing guitar or keyboards with rock groups, to producing albums and being artistic director for festivals, Dzijan shines all the way through, always adding a precious original voice and incomparable musicality. Considered as one of the leading contemporary musicians from Macedonia and the region, Dzijan has also gained quite a reputation all over the world. Which is only natural when it comes to such high level of musicianship. His collaborators include world renowned musicians such as Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Jeff Mils, Francesco Tristano and also Oscar and Grammy winner artists like A.R. Rahman, Kurt Elling, Frank London, Malcolm Burn, Luis Bonnila, William Parker, Bob Stewart, Francesco Bearzzatti, Luca Aquino, Gianluca Petrella, Peter Herbert, Damo Suzuki, \u201c Air \u201c, Gloria Estefan, Rico The Wizard ( Daft Pank ), Rambo Amadeus, Darko Rundek, Kiril Djajkovski, Arhangel, Femi Kuti &amp; The Positive Force, Vlatko Stefanovski\u2026.<br \/>\nAs a conductor\/producer of different projects his work has been presented and perfomed with the with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra L\u2019amoureux &#8211; Paris, Flanders Symphony Orchestra- Belgium, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Regional de Can, Georgian National Orchestra, National Orchestra of Lorraine, Belgrade Symphony Orchestra and recently as main conductor of the New Jazz Orchestra from Skopje.<br \/>\nHe has been a vital part of many orchestras including Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, No Borders Orchestra, East West World Orchestra, F.A.M.E.S. Orchestra (as a orchestrator and conductor) and many more. He appears on dozens of albums, 10 of which as a leader.
