This year’s literary program of the festival continued last night at Poets\u2019 Square with the guest appearance of a writer, novelist, screenwriter, theater and film director Du\u0161an Kova\u010devi\u0107, whose legendary text “Radovan III” marked this year’s festival co-production.A large audience greeted Kova\u010devi\u0107 with applause, who said that he was extremely glad to be back at the TheatreCity 25 years afterwards.<\/p>\n
Themoderator of the evening was Bojan Munjin, a journalist and theater critic, who quoted one of Kova\u010devi\u0107’s statements in which he said that as far as the theater is concerned we must believe that the audience will leave \u00a0the performance being more beautiful and smiling more than upon entering.<\/p>\n
Kova\u010devi\u0107 said that the reason why someone engages in art and theater is a private decision, but that it is not good to spread one’s problem.\u00a0He also said that in his youth he never thought that he would be involved in theater and film for all his life.
\nKova\u010devi\u0107 then read stories and verses from his book “Ja to tamo pevam (It is I singing there)”, which themathizes the chronology of creativity, but also the maturation of artists.\u00a0During the reading, the guest also talked about the way some of the famous scenarios were created, as well as the famous songs \u00a0which the films are also remembered by.\u00a0The evening ended with a short film directed by Slobodan Iveti\u0107 as a tribute to Dusan Kova\u010devi\u0107’s contribution to cinematography on the occasion of celebrating fifty years of work.\u00a0The film was previously shown at the “Kustendorf” festival during the awarding of the Lifetime Achievement Award “Tree of Life” to Du\u0161an Kova\u010devi\u0107.\u00a0At the end of the evening, the audience greeted Kova\u010devi\u0107 with a standing ovation and continued an informal conversation with the famous writer, who also signed books for those present.
