On July, 13th<\/strong>, at 9PM<\/strong>, \u00a0the XXXVIII \u201cTheatre City\u201d festival’s \u00a0\u00a0fine arts programme is to start in \u201cSanta Maria in Punta\u201d Church<\/strong> and that \u00a0with the opening of the exhibition \u201cPetar Lubarda-The New Framing\u201d. The exhibition is done in collaboration with the National Museum of Montenegro. The authors of the exhibition are: Filip Miki\u0107 (the author of the video works), Sne\u017eana Ivovi\u0107 and Milo\u0161 Marjanovi\u0107 (art historians).<\/p>\n

As a part of the fine arts programme this year, the \u201cTheatre City\u201d festival continues its long-standing collaboration with the National Museum of Montenegro, the most significant national institution in the domain of visual arts.<\/p>\n

In the accompanying text for the exhibition, the author of which is Sne\u017eana Ivovi\u0107, the following is stated:\u00a0 \u201cThe fact that all that is valuable stands the test of time is certainly true when it comes to Lubarda\u2019s grandiose canon. To honor the life and work of one of the most prominent Montenegrin artists of the 20th century on the 50th anniversary of his passing, in a way not yet seen till now, the \u201cTheatre City\u201d collaborated with the National Museum of Montenegro in a project for which the setting is one of the symbols of Budva. Lubarda\u2019s canon is inspired and influenced by Montenegro to a great degree-its landscapes, epic poetry, long-standing tradition and values that had existed since time immemorial. The one who encounters Montenegrin landscapes and their unreal beauty at least once, is certain to realize the sentimental value of Lubarda\u2019s paintings. Montenegro was to him the \u201cgreatest of all teachers\u201d, the fountain of life and perpetual inspiration. It eventually made him who he was-he received many of its gifts but also suffered\u00a0 its tragic faith at times\u201d.<\/p>\n

The \u201cTheatre City\u201d explained its decision behind marking in a new way the 50th anniversary from the passing of Petar Lubarda, one of the most influential contemporary Montenegrin and\u00a0 Yugoslav painters : \u201cLed by this year festival\u2019s motto that conceptualizes the permanent leaning towards the future, the festival plans to mark in a new, contemporary way the\u00a0 50 years from the painter Petar Lubarda\u2019s passing. He was one of the most renowned contemporary Montenegrin and Yugoslav painters. The exhibition named \u201cPetar Lubarda-The New Framing\u201d, has as its goal exploring the possibilities of breaking some new grounds when it comes to seeing in a fresh way\u00a0 the already established artistic standpoints and postulates with the assistance of new technologies. The idea is for the works from the \u00a0most important phases of Lubarda\u2019s canon, in the selection of the National Museum of Montenegro, to be presented with the use of 3D mapping technique, in the venue of\u00a0 the \u201cSanta Maria in Punta\u201d Church. We expect for the already established value of Lubarda\u2019s canon to offer new semantic aspects, defined by the synergy of the space used for the exhibition, and affirmed poetics in addition to\u00a0 the possibility of mediation and reception of visual arts by means of new technologies.
