On Tuesday ,July 23rd<\/sup><\/strong>, starting at 9PM<\/strong>, in the venue Between Churches<\/strong>, the play Tartuffe<\/em><\/strong> is to be performed. It is Ivan Vuk Torbica\u2019s<\/strong> authorial project, that was written in accordance with the motifs of the original play of the same name by Moli\u00e8re. The play \u00a0is a successful co-production of the Sombor National Theatre and the Serbian National Theatre (Novi Sad).<\/p>\n

It is important to say that what we have here is a more contemporary version of the original by Moliere. It is realized as a part of the project \u201cComical Represented as Part of the Classical\u201d. According to what was said at the \u201cBelgrade International Theatre Festival\u201d, \u00a0Igor Vuk Torbica\u2019s play is the\u00a0 prime example of a technique in literature \u00a0called \u201crewriting\u201d. It is the writing of a completely new text in accordance with the motifs, characters and situations of the original classical work.<\/p>\n

Igor Vuk Torbica created a brilliant, precise, truthful and completely contemporary play that doesn\u2019t skip anyone in its critique. It targets the men\u2019s inconsistent morals, irresponsible gullibility and the agreement to the unacceptable way of life. The actress Hana Selimovi\u0107, impersonating Dorina, addresses the public directly. Her performance is on one hand spontaneous and delicately attractive in terms of the comic effect whilst on the other it is exposing to the\u00a0 very core. From the very beginning, the actress establishes a key direct communication with the audience and will\u00a0\u00a0 continue in this manner to the very end of the play. This makes the audience an inseparable part of the performance also in some way responsible for the complete disarray ensuing afterwards. . Sa\u0161a Torlakovic is magnificent as Tartuffe, who is\u00a0 secretly manipulative with Mephistophelian sweetness and seductiveness. Ivan Vuk Torbica\u2019s Tartuffe<\/strong> subtly exposes the omnipresent social lies.<\/p>\n

The play has won awards in different categories and that \u00a0in manifestations amongst which are: \u201cTheatrical Spring\u201d (\u0160abac), \u201cVojvodina Professional Theater Festival\u201d, \u201cPetar Ko\u010di\u0107\u201d theater festival (Banja Luka) and the \u201cWithout Translation\u201d festival (U\u017eice), in addition to the award of the \u201cHo\u0107u u pozori\u0161te\u201d website editorial office. For his artistic work on \u201cTartuffe\u201d, Igor Vuk Torbica was posthumously awarded a prize for directing \u201cBojan Stupica\u201d by the Association of Drama Artists of Serbia. During the last year\u2019s \u201cComedy Days\u201d festival in Jagodina, the play received no less than three awards, amongst which is the one for the best direction of a play that went to Igor Vuk Torbica.<\/p>\n

Along with Igor Vuk Torbica, the authorial team of the play entails: Andreja Rondovi\u0107 (scenographer), Jelisaveta Tati\u0107 \u010cuturilo (costume design) and Vladimir Pejkovi\u0107 (music for the play).<\/p>\n
