The guest for the evening will be <strong>Petra Bjelica<\/strong>, who will hold a lecture named <strong>\u201cShakespeare in Budva-the connection of local and the global\u201d<\/strong>. The special focus here is being put on considering the entirely new stage adaptations of Shakespeare\u2019s work. This all was inspired with the particular instance of the \u201cTheatre City\u201d being a host to \u201cYork International Shakespeare Festival\u201d and their newly tailored versions of Shakespeare\u2019s plays: <strong><em>Twelfth Night<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>As You Like It<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Macbeth<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Petra Bjelica was born in Kru\u0161evac, Serbia (1988). Bjelica has a doctorate in Comparative Literature and is involved in Shakespeare studies. She is \u00a0the author of the monograph: <strong><em>Dostoevsky\u2019s Hamlet in 19<sup>th<\/sup> century Russia: The Paradox of Subjectivity <\/em><\/strong>(Bloomsbury Publishing). Her undergraduate and master studies, she wrapped up at the Faculty of Philology-Department of Contemporary Literature and Literary Theory. Being a part of the \u201cINVITE\u201d project, Bjelica has also obtained her PhD degree, her thesis involving the topic of \u00a0Shakespeare&#8217;s influence on the character Stavrogin\u00a0 from the novel by Dostoevsky <strong><em>The Devils<\/em><\/strong>. Her broad professional interests also include: the theory of performance arts, the adaptations and revivals of Shakespeare, the exploration of Shakespeare within the constraints of \u00a0the Balkans as well as the use of the digital media in the theatre. She is also the author of, and performer at the \u201cGamlet\u201d\u00a0 lecture performances. Bjelica also holds a spot of the \u00a0permanent associate at the Sk\u00e8ne Research Centre: Interdisciplinary Theatre and Drama Studies &#8211; University of Verona Department of Anglistics.
