He wanted for them to let go of all that is conventional and just truly feel this play. He added that Lorca was his first choice, and that not only because of the undeniable leading position in the European and world poetic tradition, but because of him being one of the few authors to have been able to model his poetic expression for theatre use. Furthermore, he added that one could spot some important similarities between the Spanish poetry and linguistic heritage with that of our region. To conclude, Torbica said that Lorca managed to integrate like no other author before, making them equally present and powerful, the three ideological plans: the poetic, authorial and as it seemed ideological one in the form of the long-established artistic tradition, everyday language and personal perspectives.

Along with the director of the play Igor Vuk Torbica, the authorial team encompasses: Branko Hojnik (scenography), Jelisaveta Tatić Čuturilo (costume design), Vladimir Pejković (composer).

Cast: Varja Ðukić, Milica Grujičić, Bojana Milanović Popović, Pavle Popović, Branka Otašević, Vukašin Ranđelović, Miroslav Fabri, Draginja Voganjac, Maja Stojanović, Dušan Vukašinović, Filip Ðuretić and Nenad Pećinar.

The “Theatre City” Press-Office

On Thursday, August 15th in the venue Between Churches at 9PM, the audience of the “Theatre City” festival will have a chance to witness the performance of the play Blood Wedding by Federico Garcìa Lorca.
