\u201cThrough working on this play, I was once again confronted with how much women are denied the freedom to decide for themselves \u2013 about their lives, their bodies, their choices,\u201d said Spai\u0107.<\/p>\n
The play No Women\u2019s Land<\/em>, produced by the Theatre City and directed by French director Laurent Berger, based on a text by Portuguese playwright C\u00e1tia Fa\u00edsco, will have its premiere in Braga, Portugal, on May 8. Inspired by the short story Sko\u010di\u0111evojka (The Jumping Girl)<\/em> by Stefan Mitrov Ljubi\u0161a, the play will be performed in Montpellier in early June, with the Montenegrin premiere scheduled for July in Budva, and a performance in Zenica in October.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Actress Mirjana Spai\u0107 told Pobjeda<\/em> that the play tackles important topics.<\/p>\n \u201cThese are feminist theories, gender equality, and the issue of patriarchy \u2013 all presented through different cultural perspectives. The play carries a deep and clear message, positioning itself as a critique of a society that is still not fully inclusive, equal, or fair toward women,\u201d Spai\u0107 emphasized.<\/p>\n In addition to Spai\u0107, the cast includes An\u0111elija Rondovi\u0107, Milica \u0160\u0107epanovi\u0107, Milica Keki\u0107-Martinovi\u0107, and Marija Lije\u0161evi\u0107.<\/p>\n The play is the result of the Sexual Theatre<\/em> project, which is being developed through the Creative Europe<\/em> programme. Alongside the Theatre City, project partners include the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, Paul-Val\u00e9ry University Montpellier in France, and Faz Cultura<\/em> in Portugal.<\/p>\n
