After being successfully performed in the Portuguese city of Braga, the play \u201cNo Woman\u2019s Land\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, a project by the Public Institution \u201cTheatre City\u201d, continues its international journey. The play will be presented on June 10 and 11 in Montpellier, as part of the festival \u201cLe Printemps des Com\u00e9diens\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, one of the most prominent festivals in France.<\/p>\n

This play addresses the position of women in society in a powerful, moving, yet humorous way, and was created as part of the project<\/strong> \u201cSexual Theatre \u2013 A Feminist Readings of Classics.\u201d<\/em> It is based on the short story \u201cSko\u010di\u0111evojka\u201d<\/em> (The Jumping Girl) by Stefan M. Ljubi\u0161a, directed by Laurent Berger<\/strong>, with the text adapted by C\u00e1tia Fa\u00edsco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The cast includes Montenegrin actresses: An\u0111elija Rondovi\u0107, Mirjana Spai\u0107, Milica Keki\u0107 Martinovi\u0107, Marija Lije\u0161evi\u0107, and Milica \u0160\u0107epanovi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The international presentation of this play has been supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to \u201cNo Woman\u2019s Land,\u201d<\/em> several other plays will be presented in Montpellier between June 7 and 12, including \u201cAlive\u201d<\/em> by A\u00efcha Euzet, directed by J\u00falio Cerdeira, \u201cA Beautiful Voice\u201d<\/em> by Ned\u017ema \u010cizmo, directed by Montenegrin director Minja Novakovi\u0107<\/strong>, and \u201cGo Out and Fight\u201d<\/em> by Montenegrin playwright Stela Mi\u0161kovi\u0107<\/strong>, directed by Lajka Kaik\u010dija.<\/p>\n

These plays were created as part of the project \u201cSexual Theatre \u2013 A Feminist Readings of Classics,\u201d<\/em> co-financed by the Creative Europe programme, in which the Public Institution \u201cTheatre City\u201d is a partner, along with the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the cultural center Faz Kultura in Braga (Portugal), and Paul Val\u00e9ry University in Montpellier (France).<\/p>\n
