The drama program of the 37th Theater City Festival continued with the performance “Final Act” on the stage between the Churches. It is an author’s project by Lucija Barišić in co-production of the “Pierre Vally” Art Organization with the Zagreb Youth Theater and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.
The play “Final Act” is told in an intimate but humorous way from the perspective of death as the final act. In this monodrama, Barišić returns to his childhood, recalls the death of his mother, raises the question of collective fear of death, opens and packs both maps of memories and places of events up and waiting for the final act. In the second part, life is the theme, so a connection is made between optimism and fear, in which optimism wins in the end. The interaction with the audience is constant during an one-hour performance, and the Budva audience rewarded it with the applause several times during the play.
In addition to Barišić, the author’s team consists of artistic collaborators on directing and dramaturgy: Petra Veber, Damir Klemenić, Adriana Josipović, Ana Prolić, Mala Kline and Jadran Grubišić. The musicians are Luka Žužić and Tomi Novak, Marino Frankola is in charge of lighting, and the designer of promotional materials is Ivor Tomljanović.
