In relation to the project “Sexual Theatre: the Feminist Readings of Classics”, co-financed by the European Union through the “Creative Europe Programme”, the “Theatre City” Budva issues an invitation to the three-day casting workshops. Everything touched upon at the workshops is to be a part of the theatre production that will take place during 2025.
The invitation to the workshop, a part of which are also the casting auditions, is supported by the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (Cetinje) and the Montenegrin Theatre “Zetski dom” (Cetinje).
The project is to gather in one place the artists from four countries: Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal and France. It has as its goal the brand new interpretation of Montenegrin literary heritage; this time it would be seen from the feminist perspective. The final result of all this will come in the form of producing and performing the four original international productions in addition to the four separate international festivals.
When talking about the premiere planned for Budva, the focus will be put on the new reading of Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša’s work Skočiđevojka. The perspective will understandably be contemporary. Catia Faisco from Portugal will stand behind the dramatization of the newly tailored play, whilst the direction will be trusted to Laurent Berge.
In addition to the work on the new interpretation of the text, the workshop led by Catia Faisco and Laurent Berge will consist of voice training as well as stage movement coaching and interpretation.
Focus groups: actors and performers between twenty and thirty-five years of age; professionals as well as the fourth year students.
