A higher place was sought: Loud applause for the play “The Green Felt of Montenegro”
Last night, the drama program of the 37th Theatre City Festival continued with the performance of the play “The Green Felt of Montenegro” on the stage between the Churches in Budva’s Old Town. It is a co-production of the Theatre City , the Belgrade Drama Theater and the City Theater from Podgorica, based on the motifs of Momo Kapor’s novel in collaboration with Zuko Džumhur, and directed by Nikita Milivojević.
“The Green Felt of Montenegro” had its premiere at the 35thThetare City festival, while the Belgrade audience saw it for the first time on the stage of the Belgrade Drama Theater in November of that year, and in Podgorica on the stage of the City Theater in December. In the inter-festival period, the play is in the regular repertoire of all co-producers, and it was also a guest at significant regional festivals.
And this time, a place was sought on the stage between the churches, and the performance was greeted with thunderous applause.
Nikita Milivojević, who is also the scenographer of the play, directed and adapted the text of “Green Felt of Montenegro”. Jelena Stokuća is the costume designer, Aleksandar Srebrić is in charge of the music, and Amalija Benet is in charge of stage movement.
