The prestigious 37th edition of “Theatre City” Festival was officially opened last night with a concert by the famous RTS Big Band and a world–renowned jazz musician Uroš Perić.

“When we listen to jazz in Budva, especially at the ‘Theatre City’, we always
remember our fellow citizen Nikola Mimo Mitrović, with whose love for jazz music and
people many of us present tonight grew up, including our guests from The Big Band RTS. Mimo started that friendship that which has lasted for years and grew into collaboration between two important institutions such as the “Theatre City” festival and RTS Music Production, thanks to which we had the opportunity to listen to the children’s choir “Kolibri” live for the first time in Montenegro the night before the last, as well as to enjoy a superb performance of well–known melodies tonight”, Lubarda Marojević said.
On behalf of the the Municipality of Budva, founder and main patron of the festival,
Nikola Jovanović, President of the Parliament of Budva, addressed the attendees.
The festival was opened by a longtime friend of the festival, writer and director Vida
Ognjenović.
During the concert, the audience enjoyed well–known melodies “Unchain my heart”, “Georgia on my mind”, “The long and winding road” which were praised by the thunderous applause for the artists who excelled. Uroš Perić, who as expected both delighted, but also made the Budva audience laugh, said that it was a great honor for him to open the Festival.
Vladimir Krnetić, the conductor of the RTS Big Band, said that the most important thing for them was that the audience was satisfied having in mind it was the only that mattered.
