It is also important to mention the translation of Thomas Tsalapatis’ selected poems. She is a member of the Independent Journalist Association of Serbia and is currently the editor of “Mali Politikin zabavnik” magazine.
When speaking about Špadijer’s poetry world, Ðorđe Matić states that it is borderline between violence and love, sorrow and laughter, reality and fiction. “In a generation that considers writing somewhat automatic because it writes often and without putting much thought into it, Milica succeeded in finding her authentic voice. Her biggest achievement is having managed to reconcile insurmountable differences like: classical education as opposed to everyday life, the rational criticism of a citizen contrasted with childlike thoughts and reflections, the role of a women engaged in society combined with playfulness, humor and being sincere (I am a scary woman/ Perpetually scared) and the wish to be an active member of society while at the same valuing her privacy. There is also her striving to be open-minded towards the confusing, unknown world of nowadays intertwined with the feeling of belonging to one nation only. The poet’s entire work could be summarized as follows: Self-reflection, uncertainty/Taking on reality as very much real and having faith in it”.
The moderator for the evening is the editor and proofreader, Jelena Nidžović.
