Is beauty a reward or a punishment?

Awards for an extraordinary achievement in the field of dramatic theatre, Grand Prix at the New Drama Festival 2022 and the Tatra Banka Award for Art in the Young Creator category. An exceptional production directed by Zuzana Fialová.

The myth of beauty instills in girls from a young age an idea of ​​what they should be like. Not only visually, but also mentally. What their role is in society, in the family. What they should be like, how they should behave, how and what they should say. How their opinion doesn’t really matter and they should keep it to themselves. To be a good daughter, a good wife, a good mother, a lover, a citizen, a Christian.

The result is anxiety, depression, a feeling of permanent failure. Girls even put pressure on each other. How to protect yourself from this? How to handle it and not lose self-confidence and self-worth?

The project was created in collaboration with the University of Fine Arts
