A Musical Journey from Central Europe to the Mediterranean

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Montenegro’s independence, I have curated a program titled ‘Go, Man: The Rhythm of Freedom’. It reflects this year’s thematic focus on heritage and Mediterranean cultural identity through a musical dialogue between the Central European tradition and the vibrant spirit of the Balkans. The program features Senad Gačević’s ‘Story’ as a tribute to your contemporary heritage, alongside works exploring identity and freedom by Sylvie Bodorová, Manuel de Falla, and others.”

The festival features a performance by the internationally acclaimed Czech violist Jitka Hosprová. Being an artist with an exceptional career, Hosprová recently performed at the prestigious “Golden Hall” of the “Musikverein” (Vienna). This  iconic venue is famous for broadcasting the New Year’s Concert which is praised every year by the audiences across the world. Upon my recommendation, Hosprová is to perform in a duo alongside the promising Montenegrin pianist Andrija Jovović who is currently based in Vienna. This way, that tradition between the domestic and international music connection will be nurtured. The carefully thought through   repertoire intertwines pieces for viola and piano by a talented domestic composer with those by a well-known Czech author. The author who is the recipient of the Czech State Medal of Merit. Through the artistry of Hosprová and Jovović, this performance fosters a harmonious interconnection between the domestic and international music worlds.
