The drama program of the 37th Theatre City Festival continued last night with the play (Pra) Faust of the Belgrade Drama Theater in the amphitheater of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Stanjevići. The play was based on the famous work of Johann Wolfgang van Goethe, dramatized by Fedor Šili, and directed by Boris Liješević.
The air temperature in Stanjevići was unexpectedly low for the beginning of the year, but that hinder neither the actors or the audience, who rewarded the entire ensemble with a-several-minute applause.
The director of the play, Boris Liješević, is satisfied with the play performance, especially in an environment such as the amphitheater in Stanjevići.
“It was cold, windy and heavy, but this verse of Goethe’s has made its way through the ages and various times and has been reaching the audience for centuries, so it has reached us tonight as well. And it will probably come until the end of time”, he said and added that the humorous moments in the play came from the text, but also from good acting.
Besides Cvetković and Ilinčić, Ozren Grabarić, Ivan Tomić, Daniel Sič, Ivan Zarić, Mirjana Karanović and Stanislava Nikolić are playing the roles in the drama that predates Goethe’s famous “Faust”.
