On Monday, June 24th, within the premises of the NGO “Prima”, the workshop concerning the project “Sexual Theatre: the Feminist Readings of Classics” was held. The “Theatre City” Budva, together with its partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, France and Portugal, is responsible for the implementation of the project.
The “Prima” NGO is a non-profit organization seated in Podgorica, which was founded in 2010. This organization is comprised of activists with long-term experience in areas that are important when it comes to fostering greater democracy in society. The organization’s areas of interest entail: youth work and youth policies, the rights of women, minorities and marginalized groups, psychological counseling and providing information as well as the work done in the civil sector.
The organization is active in Montenegro, the region of Western Balkans and Europe. During the workshop Catia Faisco, a playwright who is working on creating a completely new contemporary play, spoke with: Aida Perović (a psychologist, youth worker, feminist and pacifist) and Anđela Zarić (a feminist, psychologist and human and minority rights advocate).
The significance of this workshop lies in the valuable insights the playwright Catia Faisco gained from the individuals engaged in the work of the NGO “Prima”. They selflessly shared their knowledge and experience, this way helping paint an accurate picture of Montenegrin society when it comes to the roles of women.
