Rehearsals for the play No Woman’s Land by French director Laurent Berger have been continued at “Crvena komuna” in Petrovac. The text, inspired by the short story Skočiđevojka (The Jumping Girl) by Stefan M. Ljubiša, was written by dramaturge Cátia Faísco. The play is being developed as part of the Sexual Theatre project, which is supported by the Creative Europe program.
In addition to the Public Institution Theatre City, the partners on this project are: the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, Paul Valéry University Montpellier (France), and Faz Cultura in Braga (Portugal).
The project addresses topics related to feminist theory, gender equality, and patriarchy – issues common to the countries participating in the project: France, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The result will be four performances, to be staged in these countries during 2025.
The cast features Montenegrin actresses: Anđelija Rondović, Milica Šćepanović, Milica Kekić Martinović, Mirjana Spaić, and Marija Liješević.
The Theatre City would like to thank the Public Institution Museums and Galleries of Budva for providing rehearsal space.
